JOIN US!

When: 6/13 (next Sunday!) from 1pm-4pm

What: Music by our very special guest @blkboyshine, for a very special reason. And also shopping, 10% of the day's sales will go to our guest.

THE WHY: We appreciate the arts and the work of one of our neighbors, Darryl DeAngelo Terrell (@blkboyshine) (and also the fact he taught us how to care for our plants).

He was chosen to attend the Black Rock Senegal Residency, founded by renowned artist Kehinde Wiley, this fall, in Dakar, Senegal.

Darryl DeAngelo Terrell is a Detroit-based artist who primarily works within lens based media but also utilizes performance and writing to tell their stories. He curates, DJ's, organizes and educates. Darryl’s work explores the displacement of Black and Brown people, femme identity, strength, the Black family structure, sexuality, gender, safe spaces for Black people and personal stories---all while keeping in mind the accessibility of art. Darryl is always thinking about how his work can aid a larger conversation about Blackness and it’s intersections. He was recently a Redbull House of Art Resident (2021 due to COVID-19), 2019/2020 Document Detroit Fellow, 2019 Kresge Arts in Detroit Fellow of Visual Arts and more. He is currently working on three projects, you can check out more on his website Darryldterrell.com

Come out to listen, support and enjoy a Sunday in the City!
